Register Early! Pre-registration is required to reserve a space. Class sizes are small and space is limited. Supplies are not included in the class fee.
Supply lists are available at the League when registering. There are no make-up classes.

Budding Young Artists (Ages 6+)
Instructor: Gloria Bocchetti
Tuesdays, 3:30 5:00 p.m.
Have fun experimenting with a variety of two and three dimensional mediums, from drawing and painting
to sculpture. Each child will be encouraged to express himself and be creative, while learning about
color, form and perspective. Classes begin the first Tuesday in October, November, January, February,
March, April and May. Materials fee of $5 is included.

Intro to Black and White Photography (Ages 8+)
Instructor: Chris Galanopoulos
Mondays, 4 5:30 p.m.
Explore composition and delight in forming favorite images. Each child will be given their own one-time
black and white camera. Your child will learn how his/her favorite negative can magically turn into a
print. Classes begin the first Monday in October, November, January, February, April and May.

Advanced Drawing (Ages 7+)
Instructor: Alexandra Lillis, BFA
Thursdays, 4 5 p.m.
This one hour class is for the child who is serious about drawing! Using pencil and/or colored pencil
students will apply principles of light, shadow, and form to create compositions of their choosing.
Class size is limited to four. Classes begin the first Thursday in September, October, January,
February, March and May. In April classes begin on 8th.

Watercolor for Kids (Ages 7+)

Wednesday, 4 5 p.m.
Come paint with us. Learn all about watercolor including technique, materials and the basic elements
of art including line, color, texture, mood and composition. Class size is limited to six.

KIDS WORKSHOP
The Eye of the Beholder: A Photography Workshop -(Ages 7+)

kids learn to take a closer look at the world around them. Come join this two hour fun-filled

Acrylic Painting
Instructor: Nancy Law
Mondays, 2:30 4:30 p.m.
This class will introduce you to the ease of painting with acrylics which can be reduced to
watercolor level or up to oil painting level. You will come out of class more aware of color,
detail, and with a joy for painting! Supply list provided after first class.

Basic Drawing

Drawing the Clothed Model

Students will be guided through the complexities of
portraiture, pose, and proportion. This class will also address fabric and its relation to the fully
clothed human figure. Open to all experience and drawing levels. Classes meet weekly. Four week

Oil Painting

Introduction to Colored Pencils

Beginning Hand Built Pottery

Start with a block of clay, relieve your mental stress and physical tension, have fun and create
functional, fun, colorful - even whimsical - pieces of pottery. You will learn pinch and slab
construction. Four-week sessions beginning the first Wednesday in October, November, January,

Watercolor

Learn to watercolor with a talented award winning island resident! This studio class will explore
color, value, and composition with an emphasis on individual expression. Paint along with Cheryl
or work on your own painting while learning from her demos and critiques. Classes meet weekly.

Stained Glass

You'll never buy another gift after mastering the "ancient art" of stained glass. Explore the
copper foil technique attributed to Tiffany. Tool/material list provided at first class.

Photography: Black & White Composition through the Lens

Learn the basics of photography and composition through classical black and white film. Gray scale,

Digital Photography Basics

Thursdays, 4:00 6:00 p.m.
Get the most out of your digital camera from shooting and saving, to sizing and sending your
images. This class will demystify digital photography and have you sharing great images with
family and friends. A point and shoot, digital hybrid or digital SLR and laptop are recommended
but not required. Classes meet weekly for four weeks. October classes begin on the 8th. All other
sessions begin the first Thursday in November, January, February, March and April.

Digital Photography and Imaging Advanced

Thursdays, 6:30 8:30 p.m.
Take your digital imaging to the next level. This class covers the "art of seeing", camera
operation and editing with Photoshop. The relationship between shutter speeds, f-stops and ISO;
meter mode, exposure, histograms, RAW processing, retouching and layering for digital printing will
all make sense when you complete this class. Classes meet weekly for four weeks. October classes
begin on the 8th. All other sessions begin the first Thursday in November, January, February,
March and April.

Workshops
How to Photograph Your Artwork
Instructor: James Corwin Johnson
This workshop will teach you the secrets of photographing your artwork.
Jewelry, pottery, glass, sculpture drawings and paintings (even behind glass) will look their best
when you learn how to set-up, light and control color. You will also learn how to format digital
images for submission to fine arts shows.

Floor Cloth Workshop
Instructor: Deeana Atkinson
Create a floor cloth in "Trash Sister" style using scraps of vinyl flooring and mis-mixed paint!
Have fun while creating something so utilitarian that you can use it in front of your sink or in
your lanai. This is a fun workshop for every level of artistic ability. Deeana Atkinson of
"Trash Sister" fame will show you how. A materials fee of $20 is payable to the instructor

Exploring Textures in Watercolor

Join Joye Moon, NWS, for a fast paced 2 day watercolor workshop. Be one of the first groups to
explore projects presented in her book, "Exploring Textures in Watercolor" with North Light Books.
Experience new methods and techniques with a floral and landscape project that will build your skills
and enhance the way you like to paint. A focus on design and structure will be explored. Don't miss
this opportunity to work with Joye while she is in Florida. If you were in Joyes workshop last year,
rest assured, she will present all new projects for this workshop. Sign up ASAP since space is

Wire Sculpture Workshop

Wire sculpture is an exciting and expressive art form. In this workshop you will receive step-by-step
instructions to successfully create your own flamingo! With a variety of wires and steel this
creation is designed to create a smile and is appropriate for any indoor our outdoor setting.
A materials fee of $40 is payable to the instructor. Please note this course requires the use of
simple hand tools (wire cutters, pliers, hack saws, etc.) Call the office for a supply (tool) list.

Faces
Instructor: Doug Land
This workshop will present the basics of drawing portraits. The bones and muscles of the face and
neck will be reviewed as well as typical features and measurements. Different styles by a review of
master artist drawings will also be included. There will be instructor demonstrations as well as a
variety of individual and group class exercises to practice techniques. Call the office for a supply
