Journaling Workshop

 

Creative Writer and Author Susan Huppert has passion to see others succeed in writing. Former owner of Homegrown Publications, she has been published in a variety of news outlets, magazines and anthologies over the past 18 years. She has lead women’s writing groups for the past three years at Come to the Well in Bradenton and is the author of two children’s books.

We are honored to have Sheryl Spikes presenting an hour of mindful healing meditation and energy balance. Sheryl, a full time island resident for over 30 years, is a licensed registered nurse for over 50 years, practicing energy healing work and teaching meditation & Reiki Master for the past 9 years.

Come and join us as we raise our vibrations with prayer, meditation and song. All healing is divine healing.

Meditation is a practice of concentrated focus upon a sound, object, visualization, the breath, movement, or attention itself in order to increase awareness of the present moment, reduce stress, promote relaxation, and enhance personal and spiritual growth.

 

Introduction To Watercolors

Interested in learning about watercolors? This three hour workshop will teach multiple
techniques including dry brush, wet on wet, resist, watercolor pencils and other painting methods. No pressure or judgement!

Lori has a bachelor of Fine Arts from Michigan State University and a Masters of Arts from Western Michigan University, and has been an Art Instructor for K-12 School Craft Schools.

Want to improve your posture and breathing? …Restore and maintain your mobility and balance? …Increase mental, physical and spiritual awareness? …Have fun? Then this class is for YOU!

CHAIR YOGA is ideal for those who do not want to, or are unable to, get down to the floor on a traditional yoga mat. Using the chair for support, the postures will be presented in a slow, clear and manageable way in order for the student to comfortably and confidently connect with the mind and body. As you practice traditional yoga poses adapted to a chair, you can focus more closely on breathing, mindfulness, flexibility and balance.

Enjoy ALL the benefits of a regular yoga practice in a safe and encouraging atmosphere. Suitable for all levels and abilities. Chairs will be provided.

A Picture is worth Your Thousand Words!
This women’s writing group will examine the mind’s journey from graphic to pen. Stimulated by several art forms. Participants will write creatively among a receptive group. Whether novice or experienced, you will fit here. Personal editing and tweaking is included.

4 week Oil Painting Course

Supply List: Canvas, quality brand paints, 5 flat and 5 round brushes.

Mr. Rodriguez, a recognized artist in portraiture painting, using either a live model or a sculpture. He will teach procedure, method, and essentials of proportion and composition to start the artist on the right path to achieve control of the oil portraiture medium. Oil painting techniques and methods developed through a series of progressively challenging subject matter leading up to the human form.

Raku Workshop

Robert works as a free lance artist/illustrator and also teaches drawing and painting at a local high school. He resides on Anna Maria Island, Florida.

Teacher’s description: “In this class we will learn hand building techniques. The first two sessions will be creating great works, the second two will be learning the ‘Raku’ firing process.”

Oil Portraiture Painting Workshop

Mr. Rodriguez, a recognized artist in portraiture painting, using either a live model or a sculpture. This class delves into the techniques and methods of oil portraiture, inspired by what we know of renaissance techniques. The essentials, including proportion and composition will be taught. Students will strive for control of the Oil medium and start on the right path painting from a live model. Class limited to 10 students and minimum 3. Call the Art League for more details.

Six Week Creative Ceramics Course

A unique opportunity to explore that exciting medium of clay. This course is open to all skill levels and will incorporate hand building and sculpting. Multiple forming and glazing techniques will be demonstrated to help you create your own masterpieces.

Classical Moments In Art History

An in depth look at four key moments where classical, or classically inspired art blossomed.   The class begins with the ancient greek achievements, and continues  with the high renaissance, the Dutch school,  and finally,  the French academic school.

Mr. Rodriguez, was born in Brooklyn, NY and studied Art History at Brooklyn College. He is a recognized artist in portraiture painting, using either a live model or a sculpture. He will teach how to read two dimensional image and translate it into a three dimensional image existing in our space.
